From amaranth, toasted, puffed, popped, extruded products can be made, which can be mixed into muesli, yogurt, kefir. From its flour, you can make porridge, cream soup, and from its flour (due to its high starch content) bread, pastries, and cakes can be made. It is also suitable for breading. Due to its neutral taste, it can be prepared salty and sweet as well.
Usage: It can be used to make excellent side dishes when boiled and lightly seasoned.
Amaránt elkészítése
Mosd át alaposan az amaránt magokat hideg, tiszta vízzel, tedd egy edénybe, önts hozzá 2,5-szeres mennyiségű vizet (pl: 1
csésze amaránt maghoz, 2 és 1/2 csésze vizet adj).
Adj hozzá egy kávéskanál sót, majd forrald, miután felforrt, kb. 15 percig főzd alacsonyabb lángon (a gőz puhítja a magokat)
Vedd le a tűzről, és hagyd állni 10 percig, hogy teljesen felszívja a vizet.
Ezután egy villával törd át: nézd meg maradt-e közte nedvesség, akkor jó, ha nem!
