Product Description
The term omega-3 refers to a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids play an important role in various physiological processes in the body. Consuming alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) found in flaxseed contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 2g of ALA. Replacing saturated fatty acids with unsaturated fatty acids [both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated] in the diet contributes to maintaining normal blood cholesterol levels. In our country, the optimal ratio of Omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) and Omega-6 (linoleic acid) has shifted strongly towards omega-6 fatty acids. Flaxseed products also contain phytohormones (lignans).
