Product Description
Raisins were already popularly consumed in Egypt and Persia 2000 BC. Raisins can be made from various grape varieties, usually the drying process starts on the vine and is accelerated by further drying. It takes 4-5 kg of juicy grapes to produce 1 kg of raisins.
Importance, impacts:
The high energy content of raisins is due to the sugar they contain, so it is not suitable for consumption on its own in a diet or in case of diabetes, only in very small quantities when added to a fibrous food (e.g. porridge). However, if quick energy gain is the goal, raisins are a much better choice than, for example, glucose, chocolate, or a carbonated soft drink, as besides sugar, they also contain many important minerals, with potassium being particularly notable.
Usage:
Raisins can bring a special touch to even the simplest yeast doughs, Christmas or other festive dishes. In everyday life, we can enjoy them in muesli, fruit salad, porridge, energy bars, cookies, or even mix them into yogurt.
Not only sweets, but salads can also be made more special with a few raisins.
