For example, a gram of powdered wheatgrass contains 2.4 mg of vitamin C, 1.6 µg of vitamin B12, 10.6 µg of folic acid, nearly 300 µg of beta-carotene, 30 mg of potassium, 200 µg of iron, 18.2 µg of zinc, 0.1 µg of selenium, and 300 µg of lutein. Its most characteristic active ingredient is chlorophyll, which is the most important feature of plant metabolism. Wheatgrass powder contains 5.4 mg/g of chlorophyll.
