It is an official drug in the European (PhEur VIII) and USA pharmacopeias. In weight loss diets, it inhibits the development of hunger and regulates the breakdown of fats. In diabetic diets, it slows down the absorption of sugar as an additive - decrease in blood sugar levels can be experienced. In animal trials, it stopped the proliferation of tumor colonies. Its mucosal substances (arabinoxylan) also have anti-inflammatory effects.
When consuming, it is necessary to increase the usual fluid intake by a minimum of 6 dl. It is advisable to consult a doctor before consumption in larger quantities.
