Vanilla was not accidentally one of the most expensive exotic spices: the spice containing vanillin, resin, and vanillic acid gives the aroma to a plethora of sweets, but it is also used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. In Mexico, even the ancient Aztecs favored it, brewing tea-like beverages and flavoring chocolate with it. It can be used to flavor pastries, preserves, ice creams, creams, and generally sweet dishes, liqueurs, sweet soups, and sauces. Its taste, unlike many other spices, does not deteriorate during cooking, so it can be cooked with food without any harm; it is a completely harmless spice, therefore even those suffering from stomach, liver, and kidney problems can safely use it.
