Figs are most widespread in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, but they can also be found in Hungary. This fruit, which is more than 7000 years old, was already recognized for its beneficial effects and was used in religious rituals.
Dried fig, like other dried fruits, mainly contains carbohydrates (sugar), low proteins, and a negligible amount of fat. Its fiber content helps alleviate constipation. Compared to other fruits, it has a significant calcium content. Antioxidants found in figs are important for the functioning of every cell.
Nutrients can also be effective through the skin, masks, creams, and skin scrubs can be made using raw or dried figs.
Usage:
Dried figs can be enjoyed on their own as a dessert or snack, but they also work well in fruit salads (especially winter fruit salads). They can be used in desserts, energy bars, muesli, as well as in main dishes or side dishes.
