Tapioca mainly contains carbohydrates, starch, and very little fiber, so it has a high glycemic index, rapidly raising blood sugar levels. Consequently, it is suitable for quick energy gain (for athletes), but not recommended for those who want to reduce their weight. Diabetics should also avoid it for the same reason.

Contains low amount of protein, with negligible fat content. Vitamin and mineral composition is not particularly significant. Low in sodium.

Tapioca is naturally gluten-free, so it can be safely consumed by those with gluten sensitivity. It does not contain lactose, making it suitable for lactose-free and dairy-free diets as well.

    Usage:

Generally, when we think of tapioca pearls, tapioca pudding comes to mind, which can be enjoyed not only on its own but also as a cream topping for pastries and cakes, or used as a decorative element for a special dish. Due to its water-absorbing ability, it can also be used as a thickening agent or even as a base for soup (it looks good in fruit soups).

To prepare tapioca pudding, first soak the tapioca pearls in water or plant-based milk for 10-15 minutes, then cook it slowly with your preferred flavors, stirring constantly until it thickens (about 10-15 minutes). Spoon into small bowls and let cool.

Due to its neutral flavor, tapioca can be used to make both sweet and savory puddings. It tastes best when served with fresh, juicy fruits.

Next time you want to surprise your guests with a truly special yet very simple drink, make them bubble tea with tapioca pearls! All you need to do is soak the tapioca pearls in black or strong flavored fruit tea, then let them swell up and take on the color of the tea. After that, rinse the swollen pearls with cold water, strain and shake them thoroughly in a shaker or, if you don't have one, in a mason jar. Serve in a decorative glass with a thick bamboo straw.
