Himalayan salt comes from the Punjab region of Pakistan. It is largely mined by hand to this day and undergoes minimal processing. No additives are added and its color comes from the minerals it contains, not from artificial dyes.
Significance, impact:
A konyhasóhoz hasonlóan főleg nátrium-kloridból áll (98%), de ezen kívül tartalmaz számos más ásványi anyagot is. Ez ugyan vonzónak tűnhet, de ha figyelembe vesszük, mennyire kis mennyiséget használunk fel kézi sózásra, az így bevitt ásványi anyagok mennyisége szinte egyenlő a nullával. Azoknak, akiknek egészségügyi probléma miatt ügyelniük kell a sóbevitelükre, Himalaya sóból sem fogyaszthatnak mértéktelenül, illetve akinek orvosa jódozott konyhasót ajánlott, inkább azt válassza, hiszen a Himalaya só nem tartalmaz jódot (vagy más forrásból kell fedeznie a napi jódbevitelét).
Usage:
It is similar to common table salt, it has no aftertaste and dissolves similarly. It can be used for purposes other than nutrition, for example in bath salt mixtures Himalayan salt is also used.
