The Hungarian Pharmaceutical Society's Herbal Section chose milk thistle as the Herb of the Year in 2013, recognized for its role in preventing and reducing liver damage. One of the active ingredients in milk thistle is silymarin, extracted from the fruit of the plant. Milk thistle extract contributes to maintaining the health of the liver and bile, sustaining proper liver function, promoting the normal regeneration of liver tissue and cells, and removing toxic substances from the body. It also supports the healthy functioning of the digestive system. The Bioextra Silymarin capsule contains 280 mg of milk thistle (Silybum marianum) extract, of which 210 mg is silymarin. This capsule provides the largest approved dose of silymarin by the Hungarian National Institute of Pharmacy. Recommended dosage: swallow one capsule daily with a small amount of liquid.
