Brown rice syrup is a natural, whole-grain plant-based sweetener. Its production involves breaking down the fiber found in rice and boiling it until the desired consistency is reached. The resulting syrup is half complex carbohydrates, 45% maltose, and only 3% glucose. Unlike refined white sugar, maltose takes 1-1.5 hours to digest in the body, while complex carbohydrates provide energy for 3-4 hours. It contains minerals like zinc, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, and also B vitamins.
