Due to the extremely small size of the plant's seeds, evening primrose oil is one of the most expensive oils in the world. The plant is native to the northern regions of America, and for centuries, Native American traditional medicine has used it to treat and relieve skin problems, wounds, and inflammations. Traders brought the plant to Europe during the age of great geographical discoveries, first in England and then spread to other parts of the continent.
