MARINE COLLAGEN AND MARINE ELASTIN
Collagen is nothing but the defining protein of the body, which is the structural builder of hair, skin, nails, tendons, cartilage, bones, muscles, blood vessels, and all connective tissues. This gelatinous protein can be found, for example, in the eyes, providing density to the eye. Collagen makes up 75% of our skin. Collagen constitutes 30% of the total protein mass.
- Marine collagens are biologically better absorbed than collagen of bovine or porcine origin due to their small molecular weight and particle size, leading to higher absorption capacity and faster circulation in the blood.
- Along with collagen, elastin is also a key structural component of the extracellular matrix. Although elastin makes up only about 2% of the total proteins present in the dermis, it is physiologically important for ensuring the skin's elasticity.
