Product Description
Mate is a tea-like soft drink consumed mainly in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and southern Brazil. It is brewed from the dried leaves and stems of the Yerba Mate perennial tree. Its name comes from the word mati, which in the language of the natives means gourd (Lagenaria vulgaris). Beverages brewed by infusion were traditionally drunk from vessel-like utensils made from these gourds.
