Christmas gingerbread recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 kg flour
- 4 dl powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 4 teaspoons gingerbread spice mix
- pinch of salt
- 100 grams of butter
- 3 eggs
- 3 dl honey
- For decoration:
- 1 piece of egg white
- 6 pcs of granulated sugar
Preparation
Mix the dry ingredients together, crumble in the butter. Pour honey in the middle, crack the eggs in, and knead it all together well. Dust the board liberally with flour. The dough should not be too soft, as it will rise a lot in the oven.
On a well-floured board, roll out the pasta dough to a thickness of 2-3 millimeters. Cut out the shapes and place them in a lightly buttered and floured baking dish.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake it, but be very careful not to burn it, as it bakes very quickly. There is no need to rebuild the baking sheet between baking sessions, unless you see fit to lightly flour it.
Decorate the baked and cooled gingerbread cookies with the egg white mixed with powdered sugar until creamy.
